Climbing 301, Sport Leading

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS CLASS?

Tired of seeing people lead the arch? We'll help you do something about it! Climbing 301 is our intro to indoor lead climbing class. You must be able to comfortably and proficiently top rope climb any 5.9 route in the gym to participate. This class will prepare you to pass both the belaying and climbing components of the TRC lead climbing test to be taken at a later date.

CLIMBING 301 INCLUDES:

• One 2 hour session. You'll get plenty of time for climbing and practice.
• Basic lead climbing topics -- equipment use, safety, communication, clipping safely, belay technique, lead climbing skills and technique.
• Free climbing for the remaining day of class
• 30 minute refresher session with a TRC instructor before you take the lead test*

NUTS & BOLTS

Climbing 301 is limited to 4 participants per class. A provisional lead test is given at the end of the session. The final lead test is given on your next visit after a refresher session. After that you're good to lead climb any time you want.

Price: $100 for non members, $80 for members.

Times: Climbing 301 is offered Tuesdays at 7:30pm.

We will start classes promptly. Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance to get registered and set up with your gear.

Reservations: Required. Reservations must be made in advance to secure your spot in climbing 301. *You must also call in advance to reserve the time for your refresher session and lead test.

Gear: At this level climbers are assumed to have their own harness, shoes, and belay device. We provide the lead rope.
